Even though their products are non-medicinal, they wanted to set a high industry standard by using cleanroom production to reduce contamination risks. Based on this, we designed a custom-built ISO class 7 cleanroom to produce CBD products.

The client
Orange County CBD is a wellness supplement brand in the UK, specialising in CBD products.
Even though their products are non-medicinal, they wanted to set a high industry standard by using cleanroom production to reduce contamination risks. Based on this, we designed a custom-built ISO class 7 cleanroom to produce CBD products.
The project
The area where the cleanroom was to be installed was a large space, but it was under a mezzanine with supporting legs. This enclosed space posed some challenges for the design team as the ceiling structure of a cleanroom is complex—featuring beams, filtration, and lighting. The team surveyed the site to understand how the mezzanine legs could be accommodated to create a functional production space.
The movement of products through the facility was also important to Orange County CBD. We not only designed the layout to prevent cross-contamination and support the process workflow, but through careful planning, we maximised the footprint to create a bright and open production space.
The result
Our team worked closely with the client throughout the entire project. The site team gave daily updates to the client which especially helped the project to flow smoothly. As did the comprehensive on-site Health and Safety practices. The result? Orange County CBD now has a classified production area that will give them a competitive advantage, cementing their position as a market leader. The new cleanroom also allows Orange County CBD to increase production and run machinery 24 hours a day.
