Our Story (Part 3) – UK Born, Internationally Grown (2012-2017)

We now reach the last part of this series of blogs looking back over our 15 years in business, which bring us to our most recent years. You can read about our early years and the growth years on previous posts.

When all eyes were on London for the 2012 Olympic Games, we had set our sights further afield.
Our cleanrooms have always enjoyed international success, as they are pre-engineered for assembly on site, but it was in 2012 that we took the steps to grow internationally.

2012 saw us branch out into Germany as we exhibited at a number of dedicated cleanroom events and we launched our dedicated German website www.connect2cleanrooms.de.

The Cleanroomshop team expanded in 2013 as we recruited many of our team – who are rated with 4.9/5 stars on Reviews.co.uk by our happy clients to this day - for their specialist product knowledge and excellent service.

Our product development team also grew, which led to the launch of HEPA-lite™ in 2014. This award-winning innovation provides localised filtration, installed at mission-critical elements of a manufacturing process line. It can also be automated to provide tooling access.

As our company grew, so did our expertise and in 2015 we added monobloc cleanrooms to our portfolio so we could help clients meet GMP requirements. We also opened our Regional Office in Towcester, which alongside our Head Office in Lancaster, meant we were accessible to all our UK clients.

Someone who knows all too well how much we have adapted over the years, is one of our company founders, Lizzie Govier. Since starting the company with Joe, Lizzie’s role with the company has changed over the years from Company Secretary to Financial Controller, Business Administration Manager and she is now our HR Director.

Indeed, Connect 2 Cleanrooms achieved the highest ever recorded Employer Net Promoter System (e-NPS) score following our recent employee satisfaction survey.

As the international demand for our cleanroom solutions continued to grow, we opened a Dutch office in 2016, putting us in an ideal location to meet the demands of the precision technology and electronics market in the Netherlands and the wider Benelux region. That brings us up to date in 2017, where our MD Joe is pioneering offsite construction as the latest innovation in cleanroom technology and we are celebrating the last 15 years, whilst looking forward to the years to come!


At a recent party to celebrate our milestone anniversary, Joe was feeling reflective, "If someone had told me in 2002 that one day I would be standing in front of my team of 60, with multiple offices across Europe, supplying some of the world leading companies with my product, I wouldn’t have believed it. But now, after the experiences I’ve gone through, I know it’s possible and I hope that our story helps inspire others too.” 

What does the future hold? Now that would be telling. But one thing is sure - the best years are yet to come for Connect 2 Cleanrooms!
